 I sat in on The Hubert Smith Radio Show today with featured guest Julia C. Hurley. I was very impressed with her intellectual conversations with Hubert Smith. I was also kind of taken back a little.  She was friendly, smart, kind, and a great guest.  She was nothing like the image some people portray her as.
    I asked her why she thought people in the media and blogger world were and are so critical of her. Why it appears some people in the media world have made this very personal. Please note I stress "people" as in plural. Well, she gave me a very good answer.  She noted that her biggest critics are the people who failed the most in politics. People who have been beaten as an incumbent, as a first time candidate or never made it very far in the political world. Basically people who have never made it as far as they have hoped or thought they could.
    So here you have this bright, young, attractive female literally come in and win one of the biggest political posts in government in a relatively short amount of time. She accomplished in one year what some people have not been able to do trying in 20 years. It is her opinion that certain people are bitter and have a personal vendetta because she is successful.
 After thinking about it, I agree.
